Gounod’s Faust is a tale of love, redemption and a descent into darkness.
When creating the artwork for this Annapolis Opera performance, I focused on the key point of Faust’s deal with the devil, and his inevitable fall. My goal was to create a design that would catch the eyes of passersby in downtown Annapolis, and draw in interest for the Opera’s event.
By mixing type and photography, I was able to design a graphic that was layered and carried depth and intrigue. The color palette not only fit that of the Opera’s brand standards, but it also honed in on the message of Faust itself.
